I have had a passion for helping people for as long as I can remember. I think the first influence I had was from my father. My father is a very generous and gentle person. He's the type of person to give you the shirt off his back. It always seemed like he was happiest when he was helping others and trying to make their lives easier. I saw this at a young age and it inspired my love for helping others. Seeing others in need also had a big influence on my desire to do it. be a social worker. Growing up, I was always embarrassed to see an extremely poor family or to see someone homeless. I always wondered what I could do to help them when I grew up. I grew up wanting to make a difference in the lives of others and I truly believe that by becoming a social worker I can do just that. When I started college, I majored in psychology. The more psychology-related classes I took, the more I realized that it wasn't what I wanted to major in. I took a social work class just to see if I would like it and I love it! Every time I went to class, I felt like I could make a difference and help others. Although I could have made a difference in helping others by earning a psychology degree, I realized my true passion was being a social worker. I think the fact that when I was young my family lived in poverty affected me. We didn't live in extreme poverty, but we were poorer than anyone we knew. Fortunately, my father found a better job and we moved to a better neighborhood. During this time, I got a taste of what it was like to live in poverty. It made me appreciate not only how lucky I was and helped me understand how people stricken by poverty feel.2. I think one of the most important points... in the middle of the document ...... spend my lunch break working doubles so that I have more time to study on other days. As I mentioned earlier, I also volunteer and do extra-circular activities for my job. Despite this, I have always passed my social work classes and courses related to the field. This is because I know how to use my free time effectively. I also work well under pressure, which allows me to make good use of my limited free time. In addition to everything else on my schedule, I'm also learning to speak Spanish. I am also learning basic conversational words and phrases in Mandarin Chinese and Tagalog (Filipino). Time restrictions will not affect my performance, as I have a deep desire to learn and help as much as I can. If I can use my time to learn new languages effectively, it will help me converse more easily with customers and feel more connected with them..
