    Throughout George Orwell's 1984 work, the use of telescreens is very effective for the Party. On the other hand, it plays a very harsh role on our main character, Winston. Throughout the novel, he lives in fear of the telescreen and is ultimately captured by the powerful power that is the Party, aided by the telescreen. The watchful eye of the telescreen is not entirely a fiction, however; in many places, everything already exists. Winston is a worker whose job is to change history to ensure that it is "correct" by the Party's standards. He meets a charming girl, Julia, and falls in love. Together, they try to find life and happiness together, and they also want to find the resistance, or the group of people they thought existed, that will help see the end of the party and the Big Broth....
