  • Essay / Develop an efficient and practical mouse trap car

The creativity of the mind is a powerful source, which shows that innovation is creation. Engineering is the foundation for applying yourself in applying discipline and knowledge to a design. Our task was to develop a mouse trap car, which was difficult, basically it was something we had never done before. The design process was based on sourcing materials, designing the appearance of the car, and even changing design flaws. Our duty to the car was therefore to gather a large amount of information to develop an effective and practical mouse trap car. So we are going to explain the process until the end result of our winning mouse trap car. The difficult car process was coming up with ideas for what the car would look like and how it would work. The ideas were developed by experimenting with the mousetrap and sketches. Then we developed from online sources which gave us a more realistic and visual appearance of the car. It took about 17 hours and 50 minutes to come up with ideas and build the entire car. Our time spent developing the car was worth it because it led to a potentially well-driven mechanism. The materials used were very easy to work with and were mostly household items. The materials consisted of 2 CDs, cardboard, 6 rubber bands, a mousetrap, string, glue, 2 pencils, used mini plastic car wheels, 5 clips and 2 sticks (purchased). These are the materials we gathered to develop the vehicle. They were all very practical and we didn't have to spend a lot of money to get a high quality product. We were mainly based on simplicity, on how simplicity can be the ultimate sophistication. The car model is very simple in its operation. The car runs by se...... middle of paper ......veled 19ft 4in. On our last and final try, it traveled a total of 20 feet. These are the distances on flat ground. Our second run was on a 7.5 degree incline. our mobile traveled a total of 15 feet on a 7.5 degree slope. To calculate our score, we used a formula. [5(DF/20) + 5(DI/2) + (5-CF)] The DF means flat distance, DI means inclined distance and the CF means total cost of manufacturing a car. To calculate our score we did 5(20/20)+5(15/2)+(5-3). Our overall score was therefore 44.5. So the overall performance was a lot of fun, but it was based on a lot of hard work and time spent on the car model. If you are determined to build something innovative, given the time and effort, anything can be accomplished, innovation is a creation. Engineering is a potential training which seeks above all an efficient performance of several structures by thinking outside the box..
