  • Essay / Analysis of Against School by John Taylor Gattos

Although Gatto uses a significant amount of facts throughout the essay, they are neither from any credible source nor are they cited. An example of a fact given but not cited is: “George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln? Someone taught them, sure, but they weren't the product of a school system, and none of them ever "graduated" from high school. (Gato 273). Gatto uses a very informative fact. However, since it is not cited from any credible source, the public may not consider it valid information or take it into consideration. To give the essay even more credibility, Gatto should cite all the factual information he found.
