Essay / Informative Essay on Thymoma - 1781
It cannot be done alone, although radiotherapy also involves surgery or chemotherapy. Chemotherapy involves using drugs to destroy cancer cells. Chemotherapy usually stops the ability of cancer cells to grow and divide. It is also not used alone in treatment, but is used in surgery or radiotherapy. There are many side effects of chemotherapy, including: fatigue, risk of infection, nausea and vomiting, hair loss, loss of appetite and diarrhea. When my mother was diagnosed with thymoma, the treatment she received was chemotherapy. My suggestion to those being treated for any type of cancer is to be careful about it because sometimes even though chemotherapy is a treatment it can also kill you because chemotherapy doesn't just destroy the bad cells but also the good cells that fight. I remember when my mother told me, “Chemotherapy is killing me more than cancer.” » That's when she stopped receiving treatment and felt better. She still suffered from the bad side effects of the cancer, but they weren't as horrible as the side effects of chemotherapy. I think some people would be better off fighting the disease themselves. My mother survived 6 years with cancer and I think if she continued chemotherapy and tried to fight the disease, she would have lost the battle earlier this year.
