Abortion has no excuseAbortion has cost the lives of more than 50 million babies since 1973 (“About Abortion”). The issue of abortion is one of the most common controversial issues in American politics and culture. In modern society, many women have unwanted pregnancies and abort without seeking other options. Abortion is not a substitute for birth control and this issue must be taken seriously. Every woman must understand that by agreeing to have an abortion, she is agreeing to kill an innocent fetus. Abortion deprives the unborn child of their right to life. Society must allow women to see through the eyes of the fetus and find other ways to raise the baby. Abortion should be illegal because childhood begins at conception, not at birth. History of Abortion According to Google, abortion is derived from the Latin root aboriri or abortio, meaning to miscarry, and is defined as ending a pregnancy by removing the fetus from the uterus. or embryo before viability. Abortion techniques developed as early as 1500 BC when an Egyptian doctor suggested the idea of an induced abortion. Since abortion is the removal of a human embryo, abortion is considered homicide. As early as the 13th century, abortion was treated as a crime punishable by hanging.
