    There are many ways to interpret the theme of more refined femininity, and indeed, the appeal of femininity is profound. As women, we symbolize suffrage and courage, recognizing our potential. All women have a role to fulfill which varies over the years and as culture evolves. Today, women are treated and seen with respect and equality. It was not always this way, however, during our country's early years a small number of hard-working women fought for women's rights. Because of this, every woman, regardless of race, can vote, speak publicly, make her own decisions, hold government office, and work outside the home. Women use these rights as a demonstration of power. As a young woman, I decided to become an early childhood education teacher. Throughout my high school years, many of my friends were excited to attend college. The majority think that being a teacher is not what I should do for the rest of my life because the income is not as immense as other careers.
