Martin Luther King is recognized by millions as a great leader and he is an inspiring man in our history. Even today, Martin Luther King is one of society's most influential heroes. He helped African Americans gain their rights and freedoms. Martin Luther King Jr. was one of the most inspiring leaders in our nation's history. Sometimes a death threat over the phone limited his strength, but it encouraged his dreams of ending segregation. He had courage and was determined to dedicate his life to securing equal rights for black people through peaceful marches. He ended segregation by creating events such as the Montgomery Bus Boycott, the March on Washington where he gave his famous "I Have a Dream" speech, and the Selma March that led to the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1964. 1965. Martin Luther King faced hatred and violence throughout his life. The moment that transformed Martin Luther King into a defender of justice. Martin Luther King received a death threat by telephone. The threat brought him to the limit of his strength as his family was threatened. King Jr walked into the kitchen and sat down with his cup of coffee. He was ready to give up.
