A primary example would be the freedom afforded to college students. Most of the time in high school, students still live with a parent or guardian. Then, in many cases, the student leaves home after high school and begins college. Thus the student will not be monitored 24 hours a day by a parent. They will have to adapt to maintain their studies and keep their jobs. Students have the freedom to choose the number of courses they wish to take. They will also have the opportunity to choose when to take the courses, so that the management of their time will be in their own hands. Students will also be responsible for keeping track of their academic workload. Unlike most high school teachers, college professors won't constantly remind you to turn in homework. Teachers won't care if you miss a class either, because they still expect you to turn in your homework without excuses. The second is that the social aspect at college will be no different than meeting someone new in any other circumstance.
