Essay / Hospital Administration Essay - 886
Different administrators choose different waste disposal methods which may depend on the size of the hospital and the waste disposal systems available in the area. Whatever waste disposal method a hospital administrator chooses, he or she must consider its environmental implications. Neriz Alicia & Ramis (2014) establish that: Biomedical waste is capable of causing injury to both healthcare personnel and the patient or anyone nearby. It is therefore appropriate to adopt the most environmentally friendly method. For example, waste paper generated by the hospital should not be left everywhere. Again, burning them near residential areas is also not appropriate. The hospital administrator must put in place measures to ensure that the various wastes generated by the hospital are properly disposed of in an environment-friendly manner.
