Essay / Summary: Ebony, I thought you were wow? - 1967
I mean, how do you allow strangers to breed your own blood; How do you know that your loved ones are being mistreated and are sitting idly by doing nothing to help them? Ebony kept telling herself “how” over and over. So in Kenya, it's not just a system issue: African Americans have more children in foster care than any other race or ethnicity. African American children are more likely to be placed in foster care, but less likely to be adopted when placed, because most foster parents only want the check. Extended family members do not participate in reunification plans or help their loved ones. Why does CPS/DHR allow foster parents to keep their children for years without the intention of adoption? (Ebony continues) Regardless, I vowed to get my education, make money, and help as many kids as I could. I went to college and graduate school, worked and saved to start my business. This is why I am so committed to community outreach and being an advocate for children. We expect everyone else to come into our communities and give. We have a duty and no one owes it to us
