The vision of the future in the 1980s was filled with robots, hovercrafts, flying cars and all kinds of high-tech innovations. Although society is not very advanced in technology, creating humanoid robots, personal/professional robots, and seeing the future of robotics, Japan is on the verge of reaching "the future" According to the 1980s. In Japan, robotics is moving to the next level and making its way into Japanese culture and the daily lives of many Japanese people. Robotics is the study of robots, but what exactly is a robot? According to NASA, “Robots are machines that can be used to accomplish tasks. Some robots can work alone, others must always have someone telling them what to do” (NASA n.pag.). For example, a conveyor belt in a factory would be a robot capable of performing work on its own, while a crane would be a robot requiring human guidance.
