The Gospel of Matthew and Mark is centered on Jesus Christ. According to both gospels, the essential teaching of Jesus Christ is visible throughout the Bible in the form of parables, which explain the kingdom of God and how we must not stray from it and that we must put our overall faith in Jesus to save us from our sins. Jesus also teaches that we are to love our neighbor as ourselves. Secondary principles are also visible throughout both gospels through its teaching on how to improve ourselves as a person as a whole and have unquestionable faith in God. I believe that the overall teachings of Jesus are consistent throughout the different parables he teaches, with each central theme primarily involving how to improve oneself or put an overall faith in God. The teachings of Jesus are seen through the Bible not directly but through different parables. These different parables help people understand in their own way what his teaching defines. The parable of the merchant seeking good pearls explains the kingdom of God. In the parable, Jesus explains: “The Kingdom of Heaven is like a merchant seeking fine pearls; when he finds one of great value, he goes and sells everything he has and buys it.” This explains that a person should not worry about material possessions. Examples might be money, cars, clothes, or social status. Instead, they should focus more on their faith. The pearl of the parable represents our faith in Jesus Christ and the kingdom of heaven. The pearl is considered of great value because it is our faith in God that is most important. The parable of the weeds is an explanation of the Kingdom of God and an explanation of how good and righteousness can only enter the kingdom of God, and evil. which is represented by ...... middle of paper ...... pore them in their daily lives.
