The relationship between technology and mediaLook around us today, what do you see? Technology is thrown at you from all sorts of places. On the one hand, media has taken technology to another level. But if you really look at the whole picture, technology is a medium. Both interact with each other. We are overwhelmed by media and technology, we have no control over it, and we no longer know what to believe about technology. The technology is distributed on 260,000 billboards, 17,000 newspapers, 12,000 periodicals, 27,000 video cassette rentals, 400 million televisions and well over 400 million radios. The media always updates us on technological advances, whether it's a new form of Internet connection or diet pills. Media is always there for technology. Television is a media source where a producer or journalist does not have complete control over program content. The interests and inclinations of the audience have as much to do with television content as the ideas of the producer and journalist. But television cannot survive without advertising, so television becomes a middleman and the real majority ruler is advertising. What brings the company and what they want to hear. I am sure that this intermediary who recently bought a cell phone that he considered in the newspaper to be a "must-have" will give him brain tumors 15 years later. Why doesn't the media protect the public from harmful technologies. Why is the government not tackling this problem? Sooner or later (probably sooner), Microsoft will have a monopoly on the entire computing world, especially software. I think it's ridiculous. Bill Gates seems like a greedy little person who will only get greedier. The media supports technology in every way. How often do you see Neil Postman on your TV compared to Bill Gates. Nowadays no one has complete control over media or technology, they are run by big corporations who are dying to sell you the latest luxury products to improve your intelligence or fun.
