    This skill provides you with the ability to understand/interpret the meaning of information. I mainly use this skill in class and when making decisions. An example is when I take notes in class. I have to write down the information first and then start rewriting it in my own words for better understanding. Taking notes does not help you fully understand the information because it may be phrased in complex words or in a way that you do not understand. So I usually look up terms I don't know and rewrite the notes in a way that makes sense to me. This will improve my understanding of the information and I will be able to explain it better on a test because it will be based on my clarity/perspective of the topic. For example, if I were to take notes on hepatitis which is "a medical condition defined by inflammation of the liver" as WebMD states, then I can rephrase that to "hepatitis is inflammation of the liver" to better match my understanding. . This makes the definition easier to remember and understand. Another example concerns my Latin class. As said above, I took notes on golden rules, vocabulary terms, noun cases, and verb endings. I took these notes and put them into charts for easier readability. Since the notes were written in my own words, I could understand the information better.
