The contribution of animals to society is of great importance as it has generously benefited humans since the distant past. Animals have always been a source of food, clothing and labor for humanity. These animals also participated in religious customs, whether for religious sacrifices or for worship, practiced from the most ancient times. Additionally, people have long depended on their unique contributions to balancing nature and the indispensable companionship they provide. In fact, animals have played an influential role in humanity's ongoing struggle for survival. Over the years, animals have always been used for the same purposes and with the same means that have benefited humanity. But in line with the continued development of the world, innovative ideas and radical thinking have emerged. With these advances, the idea of ​​recognizing animals as sentient beings and not just property began to develop. Even if it were assumed that such thinking began as a belief system in the Indus Valley Civilization, it was not until the early 1800s that the first deliberate approach to promoting the interests of animals was adopted (Cruelty to Animals, 2001). Since then, the imposition of cruelty on animals has been considered one of the major moral conflicts ever resolved in society. The moralistic justification for such actions is often immoral, unjust and offensive. It generally refers to treatment that causes unacceptable suffering or harm to animals (Cruelty to Animals, 2001). The government has also not paid due attention to these immoral issues in society. It is conceivable that Filipinos lack awareness and willingness to engage in such campaigns. I just hope that the continued cruelty to animals, not only here but all over the world, will one day end. After all, humanity's continued existence is in part due to these animals and it is only right that we give them the respect and valuation they deserve...
