  • Essay / Adolf Hitler and the Holocaust - 741

Adolf Hitler comes from Austria. He participated in the war against Germany and was injured for a while. He wanted to become an artist, but was twice refused to go to art school. People wonder why Hitler was a horrible person. Maybe because people thought he wasn't good enough. Maybe because he just wasn't liked by anyone. In the 1930s, Hitler became chancellor in 1933, wrote a book and started a war against a Nazi party. Hitler also attempted to overthrow the German government, but failed and was sent to prison. He was supposed to spend five years there, but he only spent nine months there. During those nine months, he wrote a book called Mien Kampf, which means My Struggle. After Adolf Hitler was released from prison and upon the death of his president, he became chancellor of Germany. Hitler only wanted people with blue eyes and blond hair in his country. So he started to come up with a plan and that plan was to eliminate anyone who didn't meet those standards. Hitler proposed this process of elimination called The Holocaust. He made laws called the Nuremberg Laws and in these laws there was a list of “undesirables”; people who did not follow Hitler's standards. The list was mainly composed of Jews. They had to wear the Star of David to be identified and they could not marry, own a business, go to stores, go out after eight o'clock or ride a car. Even if you weren't Jewish and your last name sounded Jewish, you were therefore considered Jewish. It was illegal to hide Jews or go into hiding. If you did, you were known to be a criminal. There were many other undesirables, but they were not required to follow these laws. There were also Roma (Gypsies), Poles and other Slavaks, political dissidents and dissident clergy, the mental and physical environment......paper......o the Bible . Anne went to three camps. First a labor camp, then an extermination camp called Aushwitz and finally another extermination camp called Bergen-Belsen. Two weeks before the surrender of Germany and the release of the prisoners from the camps, Anne died of typhis. We learn about the Holocaust so that history does not repeat itself. No one wants to be part of a group of people, race, or religion that society doesn't want or like. Everyone is the same in some way, but they are also different; and people should respect that. Just because they are different doesn't mean they should be blamed or pointed out. As the United States, we try to prevent things like segregation, the holocaust, or wars from happening again, because it's the right thing to do and people want to live their normal lives. We learn about the Holocaust so we can learn to treat others with respect..
