  • Essay / A phenomenon; Hip-hop - 1944

People have many different problems in their lives and their reactions are also different. Some of them prefer to speak directly about these problems; some choose another indirect route, like music. Hip-hop is a reaction for people to show what's going on in their lives. Although all types of music have the same function, many people prefer this type of music to tell how they feel without using exaggerated artistic lyrics since everything is pure and real in hip-hop. On the other hand, hip-hop isn't just a type of music from the beginning; it's a culture in the United States. It is effective in all areas of our lives, at school, on the street or at home. This type of popular and effective music began as rebellious music to destroy quarrels, but since then it has changed a lot; now, hip-hop is the cause of arguments violent enough to cover young people around the world (Kelley, 13). This article mentions the description and history of hip-hop and its effects to understand the violence in hip-hop culture that is presented through the lyrics. Now hip-hop does not destroy the negative results of b...... middle of paper ......o does not care about any limits in their lyrics since they consider that they show all sides of life. Even if this violence and filth of hip-hop is accepted by the music authorities, it is not easy to remedy this situation because hip-hop is present in all walks of life and people accept it with this unique and crude style. In my opinion, to claim violence in hip-hop, families should first be responsible for controlling their children, when children are educated enough to understand what type of music constitutes violence and that violence is harmful to their lives, it is easier to change the minds of music producers. Producers and artists make a huge amount of money from this industry and all industries are shaped according to demand; music producers must give what the public wants. To change hip-hop culture and destroy violence, we must start by educating young people..
