The probationary period is a more accurate assessment of an employee's abilities, desire and work ethic in the actual work setting. Although pre-employment tests and assessments are useful indicators of an employee's performance, there is nothing better than on-the-job assessment. My probationary period for the new employee would last approximately 6 months and would allow my supervisor and I to review the new employee's behavior and decide whether or not this person has met the organization's standards. During this probationary period, certain rights and benefits given to permanent employees will not be extended to the new employee and in addition, I will conduct a performance appraisal once every two months to inform the new employee about his current performance and of the way in which they are located. to organizational standards. These performance evaluations/appraisals will serve as a guide and learning tool for both the employer and the new employee. The purpose of this assessment is to inform and document what is going well and what can be improved in accordance with the goals and needs of the organization. This gives the employee the opportunity to correct or improve any behavior that is unsatisfactory before it is too late and it also gives the employer insight into the employee's performance.
