The tributes are people who live in the neighborhoods. The homages in The Hunger Games are all the same. They kill each other and become the puppets of the Capitol. The tributes become violent, emotionless puppets. And then there's Katniss. Katniss is an excellent hunter and becomes deadly during the games. However, she has not lost her compassion. Katn... middle of paper ... she barely knows. Katniss is a good person at heart. Katniss may have a hunter's instinct; kill anything or anyone who tries to harm the people he cares about. Katniss would risk her life for them. Even in games, Katniss wouldn't kill the one person who stopped her from winning. Katniss shows what matters, compassion and her humanity. Katniss shows that she is more than successful in their games (232). Katniss remembers what Peeta said on the roof. Peeta said, "I don't want them to change me in this." Transform me into some kind of monster that I am not” (141). Katniss doesn't want to get lost, which she never does. Katniss shows that she is a good person by forming alliances and taking care of other tributes. Katniss doesn't think she's good, but she really is even if she can't see it. Works citedCollins, S.
