Essay / Summary of Storm Isaac - 1014
Overall, the book was effective in showing the lack of experience that existed within the US Weather Bureau at the time. The book itself doesn't really state that it was intended for historians, but rather for the public. Larson very clearly expressed his distrust of the government that existed in 1900. The strong underlying message almost makes it seem like Larson was saying: don't trust the government. The book was very good, but one change I would make would be to include photos and maps. The book included a map that did not give a good general idea of the events. The book continually talked about photos and maps, and would have referred to them more as extremely destructive.
