Essay / A Case Study of Cyber Attack in Cloud Computing
Cloud computing is expected to be the technology of the future. This paradigm is considered to offer infinite resources and complete security, thanks to the application of modern techniques and the highly qualified personnel employed. Despite a highly skilled workforce, the cloud keeps busy; cybercriminals have successfully attacked the cloud. This work undertakes the study of threats that exist in cloud computing, the type of industries targeted by cybercriminals. Additionally, we conducted a detailed study on the targeted industries and the method used by cybercriminals to target these industries. This work will be extremely useful for researchers and businesses to know the type of cyberattack that is occurring in this newly evolved paradigm and to evolve new methods to counter them.KeywordsCyber security, cloud attack, cybercrime, asset protection1 IntroductionThe Businesses and individual users outsource their services to the Web, instead of managing their own resources. Outsourcing technical resources allows the organization to focus on the business needs rather than the technical aspect, which is taken care of by the IT domain expert. The main objective of Cloud computing is to reduce operating costs, increase throughput, increase reliability and availability [p10].
