It is believed that religion brings comfort to the most intimate part of the human being: the soul. However, what happens when religion seeks to exceed its rightful boundaries and attempts to control humans from the outside, rather than uplift them from the inside? This is the fault of the largest religious organization on Earth: the Roman Catholic Church. Throughout history, the Catholic Church has been one of the most infamous religious groups due to its apparent conquest of absolute domination over the mind, body and soul of humanity . The Roman Catholic Church has played and continues to play a negative role in the world in the scientific, political and cultural fields, undermining the quality of life of its followers and infidels alike. The Church has and continues to hinder humanity's quest for knowledge and prosperity through its repression of science. Additionally, she has been involved in some of the most infamous events in history. Finally, the Church has made it clear that it seeks to turn back the clock for progressive social change, preaching its archaic attitudes on contemporary social issues. The Roman Catholic Church has, throughout history, hindered scientific discovery, thereby hindering humanity's progress toward better understanding of the world and prosperity. Being the most “catholic” religion in the world, the Church has exercised a strange hold over the hearts and minds of much of the human race; it was his source of power. To ensure that this power was never lost, the Church had to appeal to all the faculties of the human condition, including those of wonder and reason.
