This research paper provides the history, demographics and epidemiological information on the mental health problems of older immigrants in Australia, an analysis of the key health problem in a country and provides an answer clear on how these problems could be improved. ? This research identifies predictors of psychological distress among newly arrived older immigrants to Australia. In addition to the following conclusion: How do health professionals act to modify the determinants of health? As observed previously, health is the product of influence between individuals and their environment (Mcmurray.A & Clendon.J 2011), such as socio-economics, family, culture, resources and education, so many main factors that determine health and well-being. Avoidable and unfair differences in health status have occurred within and between countries. Thus, the main reason for health imbalance lies in the social determinants of health (AIHW ` 2010). Mental health is sometimes noticeable, while there was a high percentage of mental health among migrants. Due to society's lack of awareness about mental health, many migrants face discrimination. According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics (2004), 50% of people currently suffer from mental or behavioral problems. However, the Bureau of Statistics shows since 2006 that the Australian migrant population was 4,416,037 and the population of Australian-born Australian residents has declined slightly. Additionally, the population of foreign visitors and foreign-born people has increased. According to the AIHW (2010) study, many Australians have suffered from mental illness during their lives. Usually, social problem is one of the factors causing these mental problems, such as insomnia, autism and depression, which can be solved...... middle of paper .... .. improve knowledge about healthy living. Usually, the depressed patient suffers from hopelessness, negative self-image and loss of motivation, while family members need to know how to improve the elder's emotions through communication. Elderly immigrants need to know how to combine communication with physical activity and learn self-help strategies. For example, Morgan and Jorm highlight the patient's self-help strategies, write something about their good results, engage in an activity that gives a sense of accomplishment, engage in exercise or physical activity and communicate frequently with people who are HIV positive. In other words, mental health problem is one of the health problems of immigrants and it needs help from the government and health professionals. In fact, the government must provide economic support and health professionals must provide physical and psychological help..
