  • Essay / Child Development Case Study - 702

This is one of the social skills that Quan struggles with inside the classroom and at home as well. They also state: “After initially protesting, they give a truck or other toy to another child who was waiting for his turn” (p. 10). To further develop Quan's social skills, teachers should work with Quan by explaining to him what the next activity will be and helping him achieve it. It is also important that teachers create a caring relationship with him to facilitate the transition thanks to the trust he has in the teacher. Preschoolers should also interact with one or more children. Since Quan is unable to complete this task, teachers should promote relationships with the child to help him socialize with other children. This is important because of the overall effect of social interactions on a child. Children need to learn these social and personal skills from a young age in order to continually develop socially over time.
