In the past, women were not as educated as men, which led to male dominance in high-level careers. This has led to the stereotype that women are inferior to men in employment, education or achievement. Traditions considered that a woman's place was in the kitchen to cook for the husband and take care of the children. The fact is that women are the caregivers of the family and they “reduce their work hours to care for their families” (Glynne). In some communities and households, women are not allowed to seek other jobs, either by their husbands or by custom. Therefore, women in such situations depend only on what their husband earns from his work. Traditions should change according to the modern economy which requires paid work to survive through access to basic products.
