Essay / Islamic Images of God - 1246
In the Islamic view of God, Allah is the term used by Muslims and Arabic-speaking Christians and Jews meaning one God. Other non-Arab Muslims may or may not use a different name such as Allah. The Islamic concept of God is formulated from the Quran, which Muslims consider to be the direct word given by God to the Prophet Mohammad. Many other Christian religions around the world do not agree with the words of the Quran. Even today, the Muslim faith is the fastest growing religion in the world. This is a fact that I have not been able to understand either. The question I have is how popular is the religion or is it the solid base that attracts people? I'm just not sure what it is and how to put my finger on it. So I decided why not learn together and the best way to do this is to read, discuss and gain the understanding we need. The Islamic image of God. There is one thing I noticed when I started writing my essay as part of the research on Muslims who stand out from others. Muslims reject the Christian doctrine of the Trinity and the divinity of Jesus, comparing it to polytheism. In Islam, God is beyond all understanding or equal and is in no way like any of his creations. Muslims are not allowed to visualize God according to the Quran. Furthermore, referring to Islamic theology establishes a very specific distinction between God and divine essence. One of the fundamental principles of Islam is that God exists without a place from which he comes and has no body. The Quran also refers to God as being full of mercy. Even in your darkest hours, it is said that you can ask God for repentance and he will forgive you. I find it astonishing...... middle of paper ...... the style was created to be stricter on the following in order to keep them compliant with the laws that bind them. My question is: how can you know what the Bible is and know that it is the word of God created centuries before the Islamic faith? Can you just create your own version. When God says once you know me, you are held accountable to me. You can't know what he said and then ignore it and make up your own mind about what you think he meant. In my final thought, we all ultimately work towards and for God. I believe there is no right or wrong religion, but just us, its creation, trying to make it the best way possible to return to God and the Kingdom. As it is here on earth, whether it is as it is in heaven, I believe we simply do it to the best of our understanding. Thank you.
