  • Essay / Delicious Night Advertisement - 1865

The main objectives of advertising are:• To inform the public about new products and services offered by a company• To persuade people to purchase these products or use the services offered. • And persuade or influence a desired action on the part of the target audience. Advertising is a form of communication that attempts to persuade customers to purchase a particular product or service offered by brands. Many advertisements are designed to increase the purchase of a product or use of a service. There are many different methods for advertising. The most commonly used are: radio, leaflets, magazines, newspapers, Internet and billboards. Brands use many different techniques to promote a product/service to inform a wider audience. In this essay, I will analyze a perfume advertisement to see how it persuades the target audience to purchase the product. The advertising I studied takes the form of a poster, although the advertised product is also promoted on billboards, in magazines and in a television advert. The advertised product is a women's perfume called "Delicious Night." This fragrance was created by the Donna Karan New York (DKNY) brand, one of the world's leading fashion companies. Advertising is aimed at several target audiences. The primary audience the advert targets are women aged 18-35 who have an outgoing personality. This is represented by the model because she is 24 years old and fits the age range of the product. On top of that, the name of the perfume, all the advertising and Jessica's dress suggest that the perfume is designed for women who like to go out at night. and regularly parties because she wears a dress designed to be worn at parties. Jessica's head is tilted slightly upwards from the camera...... middle of paper ...... bottles as the shape of other perfume bottles is more elaborate with intricate designs, on the contrary , this bottle is very simple and futuristic. In conclusion, all this advertising is very successful in persuading the public to buy the perfume. All features of advertising have a specific objective that aims to persuade the audience to buy the product. For example, the use of Jessica Stam modal creates an aspiration in women to look like her, so women will buy the perfume. The colors and indistinguishable composition seem to create an alluring atmosphere that suggests the woman using it will experience an incredible evening like an A-list celebrity would. The use of a definite article designating an object is convincing as are all the other characteristics. Overall my personal opinion is that this perfume will be a huge success.
