Essay / Stop Bullying: Jeffrey Johnston Stand Up For All...
Has your child been bullied? If they did, did they get the justice they deserve? well, most people don't. This is because bullying laws don't really protect children in school from being harassed at school. I can tell you that children who bully do not receive the punishment they deserve because of the laws, teachers and staff. , and students. For starters, harassment is happening all around you and yet almost nothing is being done about it. No one will stand up or speak until it is too late or not at all. The laws don't help enough. The law we have in Florida is the Jeffrey Johnston Stand Up For All Students Act. This law states that it is unlawful for anyone in the school, students and teachers/staff, to be bullied. If they claim it's illegal, why are they not doing anything at all or taking too long to find a solution? Even not all US states have anti-bullying laws. Only about 49 states have laws against harassment, and only half of them will have truly serious consequences. Every state has a law after a person has been bullied to an extreme degree. Does this mean someone has to have a tragic encounter to get a law? It may take too long once the bullying has taken effect. When reporting bullying, school police or administrators often take up too much time or are busy with other "more important" things than handling your case. Since then the bullying continues until someone crosses the line and something will happen. Like maybe the bullied child commits suicide or runs away, and yet all of this could have been avoided if they had just handled the case. Another point Teachers and staff...... middle of paper ..... .suicide in late 2012 due to bullying, but this man never had any serious consequences . If students, staff, and students would simply speak up and report every bullying they witness, there might no longer be tragic consequences. Most importantly, those who bully receive the punishment they deserve and serious consequences. So to achieve this I think there should be an anti-bullying law in every state without anyone being bullied for it. Just so they can prevent anyone from enduring this type of torture. My last comment I have for you is that if you ever witness bullying, you should report it to an adult, a police officer, or even an administrator. By doing this, you're helping children around the world, you're saving lives, and you'll feel better about yourself knowing you've done something important to help people..
