    Including three to maintain an A and not let it drop below ninety throughout the year. The next one was an award my math teacher gave me. She chose me for the prize out of everyone in all her classes. I felt honored. I also received three cords from my background, health sciences. One was to complete my journey. The other was for passing my final exam. Finally, the last one was to volunteer at a blood drive hosted by my school throughout the year. Then the countdown began, our advisor took to the podium to announce all the honor graduates. It started from the lowest to the highest. I knew if I got it I would have one of the lowest grade point averages. As she moved up the rankings, I felt my stomach tighten as she started calling out the extremely intelligent people. “I can’t be smarter than them, I know I don’t understand,” I told myself. However, I was right. I didn't know what to do, whether to cry or scream. I was so hurt that I didn't want to go to school or even try. What was the goal? I put all my effort into school these last two years, but I have nothing to show.
