Essay / Summary of Odysseus - 1031
Ulysses may be a strong leader and a great family man, but he still only worships false pagan gods. As it says in Exodus 20:4-6, “You shall not make for yourself any graven image, or any representation of anything that is in heaven above, or that is on earth below. down, or what is in the water under the ground. Earth. You shall not bow down to them or serve them, for I the LORD your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth generation of those who hating me, but showing unwavering love to thousands. of those who love me and keep my commandments. This verse tells us that we should never worship anything above God, which is Odysseus' mistake. This is a great example of the fact that there is no way to get to heaven except through Jesus for your own works, no matter what punishment you are sentenced to.
