  • Essay / Essay on Forms of Government - 766

Government, which holds the power to govern, is the name of the system. Governments embody power by regulating people's bodies, movements, attitude, and daily behavior. Governments perform such functions: to regulate the population, to govern the people, to control and direct them. Governments believe that most problems result from these characteristics; population, public health, housing, lifespan and fertility. Governments have 3 forms. The first is sovereignty and sovereignty separates the domain of government from the social domain. The power of government is to obey and enforce the law. The most important means of enforcement is to designate crime and punishment through laws. The second is discipline. The discipline, improved by the techniques of supervision, control, decomposition, spatial regulation, classification and rationalization, achieves definitive standardization and reveals bodies manageable according to standards. The third form of government is security. (Foucault, 1992; Gambetti, 2009; Karakayacı ve Kurtarır, 2006) As governments want to maintain their existence, they need declarations that legalize their forms of existence. For example; "Kut" trusts the ancient Turks. When Fatih Sultan Mehmet wanted to conquer Istanbul, he took Hz. Muhammad's words as a reference. The kings were blessed by the Holy Father and the kings implied that they had been chosen by God. These are examples for the legalization of government executions. Governments rely on education to spread their ideology, as government areas both produce information and feed governments. Foucault hospitals, dormitories, educational institutions, factories, workplaces and prisons are considered the most important elements. ...... base. As the government has invested in Imam Hatip high schools and Ottoman Turkish and Arabic classes, their importance has increased. As Gramsci says, the selection of the ruling class determines everything, especially education, because information is the most important tool to increase the effectiveness and permanence of the ruler. Political power produces and uses the monopoly of information and it is the resource of educational power. Information is a tool that regulates and transforms people. For this reason, all information transfers and implementation processes feed into and are shaped according to the government hierarchy. Information sovereignty means government sovereignty. Education and ideology are the closely linked tools whose categorization and blessing political power renders to its own legitimism. (Çetin, 2001, p... 208).
