Essay / Getting Ready to Model - 862
Being Ready to Model What do you imagine when you hear the word model? You might be thinking of tall, skinny and pretty, right? Do you know the true definition of a model? In the dictionary, a role model means a person who sets a good example. For young people, he is someone to look up to. They give people inspiration and their own creativity. Barbizon Modeling Schools was established in New York in 1939. Barbizon Schooling was established by Helen Fraiser, who was a modeling teacher. For nearly 70 years, Barbizon has benefited girls across the United States. Even girls who graduated from Barbizon but whose career is not a model or actress still benefited from this experience. Being a model is so much more than you think. I'm here to give you information about modeling, acting or preparing for a job. In September, I had an interview with a Barbizon agent. They only asked a few questions, like what experience do I have in modeling or acting. Of course, I had no experience! So they called me to tell me if I had passed or not. And of course, I succeeded! On October 12, 2013 at 1:30 p.m., I was a little nervous. There were girls I didn't know and parents weren't allowed into the rooms where we taught. I had no idea what I was getting myself into. They taught us and then made us do it in front of the whole class. After a few months of getting to know the other girls and my instructor, I felt much more comfortable. They were just as weird and unique as me! We first learned the half turn, double half turn and 4 pattern positions. The U-turn is walking, placing, turning. The double U-turn is done in the middle of the track and you walk, place, turn, walk, place, turn. The...... middle of paper ......e did a competition and was evaluated on our monologue. I didn't do as well as I should have. I got certificates for perfect attendance, course completion, and lack of friendliness. I am very proud of myself for participating and gaining knowledge about modeling, acting and daily events. Even though I already knew some things like putting on makeup and plucking (and not plucking) my eyebrows, I learned a lot. I feel like if I practice what I've been taught almost every day, I can definitely model or perform. My advantage is that my confidence is high and my posture is more correct. I'm happier with myself without worrying about people judging me. I highly recommend this program to girls who have not learned how to do makeup or who have very low self-confidence. It may be difficult for them at first but I know they will change and gain confidence in themselves..
