Women wearing high heels dates back to the 1600s, when women began dressing like men in order to achieve a sense of equality. Today, heels are considered an elegant and refined form of everyday fashion. Why wear heels after 5 p.m.? The pen should be a requirement for women who want to succeed in the workplace. This adds to your posture, your confidence, and the level of respect you receive from others. High-heeled shoes date back to Persian horse soldiers of the 9th century. Their shoes had an elongated heel, so their feet wouldn't slip out of the stirrups. European aristocrats found a taste for the style and heels became a symbol of wealth. Being short has never been good for a man's confidence. French King Louis XIV even wore four-inch red heels, to boost his ego. In the 16th century, when women began to dress and behave like men, they began to wear heels. Elizabeth Semmelhack, author of Heights of Fashion, a History of the Elevated Shoe, wrote: “You had women cutting their hair and adding shoulder pads to their outfits. They smoked pipes and wore very masculine hats. And that’s why women adopted the heel: it was in order to masculinize their outfits” (78). As women began to wear high-heeled shoes, the trend became popular among the lower classes. Men abandoned the heel and, in the 18th century, it became solely a feminine accessory. Since the 19th century, high heels have constantly been in fashion trend. The 20th century gave heels the reputation of “sexualizing” women. The 1990s brought a new dimension... middle of paper... prudish. A woman who gets up early to put a little extra effort into her appearance will put even more effort into her work. A smart woman understands what it takes to succeed in today's society. She understands that she will automatically be judged based on the wrinkles in her shirt and the color of her shoes. She knows that by wearing heels to the office, she will be more respected by her boss and colleagues. The shoes we wear on our feet set us apart from others. A stylish (not trashy) stiletto has the power to elevate a woman not only in height, but also in rank among her peers. There is no doubt whether or not they should be acceptable in the workplace: they should be mandatory. Professional attire extends from head to toe. A woman in high heels will be more successful, earn more money, and be revered as a woman with confidence and respect..
