Wait, that's mythology? The mythology is made up of twelve different gods and goddesses. It is made up of stories about gods and goddesses, but it should not be read as a kind of Greek Bible, an account of Greek religion. These twelve gods and goddesses ruled the universe. The leader of all gods and goddesses is Zeus. Zeus is the most powerful of all the gods. He was the God of the sky and the gods of Olympus. He overthrew his father and cast lots for his brothers Poseidon and Hades. Zeus is famous for his relationships with other goddesses. His mood affects the weather, when he is angry he throws lightning at the world. He married Hera, but he had many other lovers. Zeus' Roman name is Jupiter. Hades is the brother of Zeus and Poseidon. He is the God of the underworld. He is the king of the dead; but don't confuse him with the God of Death, Thanatos. Hades' Roman name is Pluto. He is known as the Miserly God. He wants to attract more followers. He doesn't let anyone leave the underworld. He is also the God of wealth, thanks to his metals extracted from the earth. He also has a helmet that makes him invisible. He barely leaves the underworld himself. Athena is the daughter of Zeus and Metis. She is the Greek goddess of wisdom, war, arts, industry, justice and know-how. She was Zeus' favorite child. Athena's mother, Metis, the first wife of Zeus, goddess of wisdom. Athena is the Greek goddess of reason, intelligent activity, arts and literature. She is fierce and courageous in battle, but only fights wars to defend the state and her home against external enemies. She is the goddess of the city. She invented the bridle, which allowed man to tame horses, the trumpet, the flute, the pot, the rake, the plow, the yoke, the ship and the chariot. She was allowed... middle of paper ...... if you eat food from the underworld, you can never leave them. So Zeus and Hades sorted everything out. Because Persephone ate six pomegranate seeds, so she has to stay in the underworld for six months straight every year. People say that this is how winter was made, because when Persephone is gone, Demeter will not let anything grow. I have told you about five of the twelve Greek gods and goddesses. There is still so much to learn about all these gods and goddesses. Know that Zeus was the ruler of all gods and goddesses. That Hades was the God of the underworld and that he took Persephone from Demeter. You also know about the birth of Athena.
