When you're starting out, seek help from a yoga teacher/practitioner who will guide you through the postures. It will guide you on the recommended postures according to your age and if you suffer from a pathology, the postures that are safe for you. Note that some of them can cause injuries leading to permanent damage especially if your bones are fragile. Reasons why yoga is good for bone health1. It's isometric. This means that it is performed in a static position. In doing so, the force of the muscles contracts on the bones, making them thicker and stronger. 2. It is a low impact exercise. You will rarely encounter a weight-bearing exercise that gently stresses the joints. Most weight-bearing exercises, like running, will put too much pressure on the cartilage and joints, unlike yoga. 3. Everyone can try yoga. Yoga is suitable for all people, regardless of age or level. If all other exercises are too painful for you, yoga might be the technique of choice. It also helps you relax and cope with any situation you may find yourself in.
