  • Essay / Personal Statement for Nursing School - 1149

I was the first person in my family to go to college. I was nervous and often thought I wasn't cut out for college. After getting my first C in physics, I realized that if I ever wanted to succeed, I had to take my studies seriously. I knew that if I wanted to become a registered nurse, I would have to give it my all. So I made a study schedule and dedicated time every day to study. When I was eligible to attend the styling and pinning ceremony, I remember being so proud of myself. My family wasn't there like everyone else but I knew my father despised me and was proud of me. The lighting of the candles and the commitment of the Nightingale were part of the ceremony and signified that I took an oath to dedicate myself to the care of others. I entered nursing school with pride and gave my all every day to become the best nurse I could be.
