Essay / 11 : Quintessential Crime Film by Steven Soderbergh
Steven Soderbergh does this by creating a remake of a well-known crime film. The original Ocean's Eleven movie has a different focus than the remake. The first movie involved getting money from five different casinos in Las Vegas, but they don't receive the money in the end. The remake is pretty much the same thing but they rob three banks, they get the money back and Danny Ocean gets his wife back. In the remake, Danny Ocean (George Clooney) has a plan to pull off the biggest heist in the history of robberies, but he needs a team of skilled people to help him pull off this massive heist. Once the plan is laid out and everyone begins to prepare, Rusty Ryan (Brad Pitt) discovers that there is more to this heist than money. He asks Danny Ocean if he is unable to do it, but Danny refuses. Steven Soderbergh's decisions regarding cinematographic techniques contribute to the overall pace of the plot. It begins with Danny Ocean being questioned in prison
