Essay / Renewable Energy - 1282
Most of the world's energy production is produced from fossil fuels such as coal, oil and natural gas. Vast fossil fuels generate energy that is used for many purposes in the residential, transportation, and industrial sectors. While the rate of consumption of fossil fuels exceeding their formation leads to an oil price crisis. Another concern with burning fossil fuels is its impact on the environment. Global warming is a significant problem that is leading to increased concentrations of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. These issues are pushing researchers and companies to look for alternative energy sources, such as switching to renewable energy or carbon-free energy to replace fossil fuels. For example, Nakata et al. (2011: 465) describe a “low-carbon society” designed to use less fossil fuels. According to Verbruggen et al. (2010: 852), the definition of renewable energy “is obtained from continuous or repetitive energy flows occurring in the natural environment” such as wind and biomass. Many countries are accepting carbon-free energy as an alternative energy and are trying to develop and apply new technologies that will allow them to use renewable energy sources in the most efficient way possible. However, switching to carbon-free energy is an unrealistic solution. This essay aims to assess the differences of opinion between renewable energy proponents and arguments that the shift to carbon-free energy is unrealistic. First consider the use of renewable energy. Second, assess the sustainable development of biofuels and wind energy. Finally, let's conclude the arguments about the potential of renewable energy to replace fossil fuels. Due to the increase in world population accompanied by an increase in energy demand due to the oil price crisis. Many governments...... middle of paper ......f debate and argument over renewable or carbon-free energy. This essay attempted to assess the potential of renewable energies both in terms of sustainable development and reducible global warming. Renewable energy such as biofuels and wind power can be considered a safe, reliable and cost-effective alternative to the use of fossil fuels for energy security. However, there are drawbacks to green energy development. Funding for research and development from laboratory-scale to commercial products is therefore appropriate, and these fuels will become increasingly expensive to use. Clearly, more could be done to produce carbon-free energy with more efficient and reduced environmental impacts. Furthermore, awareness of the benefits of renewable energy has continued to grow and the share of renewable energy in total generation capacity is expected to increase in the future...
