College is a necessary part of higher education for many reasons. Although college can be expensive and time consuming, there is no way to get a degree without it. People may be able to learn without having to go to college, but college is fundamental to getting a piece of paper that says you've earned a degree after years of hard work. However, college is not for everyone. In some cases, people are not able to function in a university environment and therefore turn to alternative forms of education. In most cases, people who cannot function in an academic setting did not do well in high school, whether due to laziness or simply lack of know-how. College is something very necessary given our current economic situation. When people talk about college, the first thing that usually comes to mind is tuition. However, there are different ways to get money for college. There are scholarships for individuals with outstanding academic or athletic achievements. Most people have a family member or someone else they can call and ask for help, mom, dad or grandparents, but if all else fails, there is always help financial. Financial aid is intended for someone who does not have the funds available to attend college. “To determine your financial need for federal student aid programs (except an unsubsidized Stafford Loan), your school subtracts the Expected Family Contribution (EFC) from your tuition costs.” (studentaid.ed.gov) Although financial aid can cover a large portion of your tuition and fees, college is still very expensive. This is why starting at a community college is probably the best place to start. Community colleges are normally much less expensive than their university counter... middle of paper ...... effect. You don't need a college education to succeed in the job market. What will really be recognized is how hard someone works. It is a basic knowledge in life that nothing is cheap or easy and is worth having. Or maybe it's something you learn after going to college. University is a place of learning and irreplaceable experiences. So the wise decision is to go to college and get a degree. There is almost no reason not to do it, there are many ways to get money. It only takes a short time to achieve a better quality of life, it only takes four years to benefit from it for life. Just keep in mind that it's more cost effective to go to a community college than a university and there are always ways to get money for that. People learn a lot about life and gain knowledge that helps them be better prepared for life and work..
