(Definition, 2011) It is the difference in views, opinions and priorities between different generations. The generation gap has always existed between different generations because they differ somewhat in their beliefs and attitudes. Although this constitutes a barrier, it also distinguishes different generations. (Article, 2011) The generation gap is also a sign of progressiveness in society. If every society remains the same in its way of thinking and working, there will be no change in society and it will stagnate. The current generation is different from the previous one just as it was from the previous one. It goes without saying that no two generations are the same. Generation gaps have existed in all generations, but things are so bad with the current generation because technological advancements have created distances between parents and children. Children are too absorbed in their own private, high-tech-driven worlds and parents are unable to penetrate that world. Communication between parents and children and understanding each other's point of view is essential to closing the gap. The gap would exist because no two generations are the same, but at least if a positive effort was made by both parties, they could avoid alienation..
