    Statement of PurposeMy interest in linguistics began with my undergraduate studies when I majored in linguistics and translation at the University's Department of English and Translation Qassim, in Saudi Arabia. After graduating, I pursued my master's degree in linguistics at the University of Florida. Having earned my master's degree, I applied for the doctorate in linguistics at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee for the fall 2014 semester. My academic background in linguistics grew significantly during my undergraduate and graduate studies. superiors. As an undergraduate, the linguistics courses that I took while obtaining my bachelor's degree introduced me to the world of linguistics and motivated me to pursue my graduate studies in linguistics. The program included the core theoretical courses: syntax, semantics, morphology, phonology and phonetics, as well as other applied linguistics courses such as sociolinguistics, second language acquisition and discourse analysis. I was fascinated and good at linguistics in general and theoretical linguistics in particular. Further development and greater impact on my knowledge of linguistics occurred during my master's studies in linguistics at the University of Florida. I studied linguistics intensively and explored its fields in depth. The core courses in this program were phonology, morphology and syntax. Additionally, I enrolled in courses in theoretical and applied linguistics, which acquainted me with advanced materials and essential experiences in conducting original research. In applied linguistics, I studied second language acquisition, sociolinguistics and applied English grammar.
