Using a Rifle / Using a ShotgunAll firearms serve different purposes. Guns have been a part of American history for many years. Many types of firearms were used for many types of work. Likewise, hunters have different guns for different game. Just as police use guns to enforce the law, hunters use guns to harvest game. The two firearms most used by hunters are the rifle and the shotgun. Both the rifle and the shotgun are used for hunting, but the two have major differences. The main differences between the two firearms are cost, range, and the type of ammunition each firearm uses. Most gun manufacturers sell shotguns for much less than rifles. Shotguns are not as internally complex and have fewer parts than rifles. The simplicity of a shotgun also makes them easier to clean and maintain, reducing costs. Since shotguns have fewer parts than rifles, this also helps reduce expenses. No matter how much a hunter takes care of his gun, over time the internal parts will break or need to be replaced. If there are fewer parts, there are fewer things to replace and less money to spend. On the other hand, rifles seem to cost a lot more than shotguns. Rifles are much more internally complex than shotguns and therefore cost more to produce. Additionally, when hunting with rifles, some type of vision enhancement is necessary....
