  • Essay / Social Solutions to Wealth and Poverty - 726

Conservatives believe that the most effective way to prevent poverty occurs within communities. Educating children to value personal responsibility and hard work will ultimately reduce dropout rates and lead to higher education and degrees leading to good jobs. American liberals claim that actively enforcing laws prohibiting discrimination in education and the workplace will prevent poverty. No person will be singled out because they do not meet the criteria that will prevent them from dropping out of school or leaving their job. Radicals believe that replacing capitalism with a more humane economic system will solve poverty. In theory, the new system would significantly reduce economic inequality and ensure a more equal economy across the world.
