Modernism appeared at the beginning of the 20th century, after the First World War and during the “roaring twenties”. Materialism, crime, depression and change filled this era. Reflecting the revolutionary period, modernism itself was a revolution in style. Musicians, artists and writers have moved away from traditional and conventional techniques to create new and rebellious art. One can communicate with and delight in another being without fully understanding or delving into their complicated mind. We can enjoy the flesh of art without completely grasping its spirit. Art as a being in its own right was a new and modern idea that brought about a revolution in style..
