    .Smoking, abusing drugs, drinking, all of these are abuses to the body. All of these things eventually come back and haunt you, but do you know what else is abusive to your body? “Tanning beds literally give users a killer tan” (Bishop, 2013). The effects of tanning are deadly and many teenagers don't realize it because the seductive fashion of tanning beds is blinding. Many teenagers today do not receive the right advice and therefore do not understand. Instead of the healthy glow that people who tan are trying to achieve, they may be killing their skin. A federal law against minors using tanning beds under their age should be enacted and should be banned. It always comes down to the fact that the United States is a free country and teenagers don't have enough freedom in and out of school. As teenagers, we are learning and still trying to learn from our mistakes, and the law prohibits certain things like alcohol and drugs to prevent us from making bad enough decisions that will ruin our lives forever. We teenagers think we don't get our fair share of civil rights and that we deserve to make our own choices. We desperately need to be accepted and we will do anything to achieve it. Tanning is another example of the choices we decide to make that could be dangerous. Throughout history, tanning has gone in and out of fashion, and many teenagers need proper guidance in the choices they make, which they don't always get. .Why do teenagers do it? It seems healthy to tan, but teenagers don't know the dangers of tanning beds. Unfortunately, it is teenagers who pay the price. About 29 percent of white high school girls use tanning beds, according to a new study whose results have alarmed doctors ... middle of paper ...... they're still learning, and tanning is a stupid mistake that could easily be avoided. We need to tell young teenagers that they have a deadly disease that could kill them because of tanning and that it's not worth it. More importantly, it's high time we treat indoor tanning like what it is, cigarettes for skin.
