Essay / Argumentative Essay on Character of a Fetus
In this case however, because abortion is a personal choice, its morality also depends on individual discretion. Abortion is not a new topic, but it is still not accepted by many. Most arguments about abortion, whether pro-choice or pro-life, rely heavily on unclear definitions and very opinionated beliefs. While proponents of choice may argue about when a fetus becomes a person, the biological process of fetal development offers a clear and unbiased answer: conception begins at the fertilization of an egg by a sperm. While personality may be an abstract and complex argument, life is not. However, this argument is not obligatory and therefore abortion should be available to those who do not consider the fetus a person, but consider abortion a right. Whether or not something is morally permissible has a direct correlation to the laws of the United States. After all, morality is nothing more than a personal choice based on one's beliefs and is therefore subjective. Even if abortion is morally wrong, it should be.
