As readers browse the magazine, the advertisement aims to stop and grab the reader's attention. Dark-haired, dark-skinned model Nicole Scherzinger is used to show off the products. Scherzinger's hair is an image that a reader can't help but notice. A long, thoughtful and comprehensive volume is what attracts the reader, especially women, as they would like their hair to look like the hairstyle shown in the advertisement. Many women will probably see the model and envy her looks and hair and therefore, out of jealousy, will want to buy the product in order to be attractive like the model. Herbal Essences included bright colors, catchy phrases, and a model in their advertising to serve a very important purpose: to sell their product. The intended message of this advertisement is the message received, simply to persuade people to buy the products. The use of the flow in the hair, the focal point and the text by Nicole Scherzinger make the Herbal Essences advertisement effective. This advert promotes Herbal Essences shampoo and conditioner. There are a few main focal points in this ad, one being Nicole Scherzinger. By having it in the ad, the public thinks that if a celebrity has the shampoo, I must get it too. Having it as a focal point attracts the consumer. Another focal point would be the semi-hidden brand, Herbal Essences. The brand name is in the corner, sort of invisible. By having the name somehow hidden in the corner tangled in his hair, the audience's eye is drawn to the name. The last focal point ...... middle of paper ...... feel that by purchasing the shampoo they are establishing a personal connection with the famous person. Having a famous artist promoting your products generates a huge amount of potential customers among fans. Throughout the ad, the viewer is presented with several messages about the product that will attract readers. The main goal of Herbal Essence is to get the viewer to stop what they are doing and pay attention to the ad. But at the same time, it has the ability to make the viewer feel comfortable with the products. Throughout the advertisement, it is evident that Herbal Essences is attempting to create the illusion of an irresistible product. The idea is that by using their product, they will have more control over their lives. Herbal Essences is very effective with their advertising because they use three important design elements: flow, focal points and text.
