Essay / The Pros and Cons of the Death Penalty - 1070
Losing a loved one, regardless of how that person is lost, is unbearable, irrevocable, and heartbreaking. Such pain is shocking and the victim's family remains hopeful that the murderer's execution will bring relief and a turning point. However, when the day of execution arrives, the pain does not subside. No relief can be obtained, because their pain is a natural and inevitable process of life. Victims' families have founded groups such as Murder Victims' Families for Reconciliation and The Journey of Hope, which oppose the death penalty. They believe they are different from those who kidnapped their loved ones and they demonstrate their difference by refusing to fall into the trap of a murderer.
