This book deals with economic and social exclusion from the market into the criminal justice system. He states that “the last third of the 20th century witnessed a shift from modernity to late modernity, from an inclusive to an exclusive society; he said this was due to the criminal justice system, the economic crisis and the rebuilding of labor markets.” It is debatable that Young showed scholars that late modernity is not a society in which people want to stay for long. His book highlighted the harsh realities that late modernity has brought. The sixth book Young co-authored was titled Cultural Criminology: An Invitation. This book used theory, studies, and interventions to study crime, deviance, and criminal behavior from the perspective of culture; and they see how the criminal justice system or the powerful construct crime. This book is useful because it shows whether people commit crimes or are deviant due to their behavior.
